New eco-friendly Aveda Concept salon opens in Castlebar

Castlebar business woman Joan Rowland, who runs the very successful Petals Hair & Beauty salon in Westport is now opening a Castlebar branch of her business offering exclusive Aveda beauty hair care & makeup.

Petals Hair & Beauty in Castlebar has a prime location on Hopkins Road, just up from the post office, and offers a walk-in and appointment based service to clients.

The new venture is unique for Joan and her daughter Jenny – who has worked in the USA with Aveda - as it is an exclusive Aveda Salon offering organically derived Hair & beauty products and holistic treatments. The salon is also entirely eco-friendly and in addition to introducing a new nail bar to Castlebar, it will also house a miniature window garden – which will absorb the CO2 and give out Oxygen to benefit the Petals team and shoppers alike.

While Joan Rowland is an experienced business woman right to her fingertips, having grown up working in the family businesses of Staunton’s on Main Street, Castlebar it is in Westport, where 22 years ago she originally set up Petals Hair & Beauty, that has primarily benefitted from Joan’s professionalism and customer offering to date. A new chapter begins with Jenny Rowland joining the business, bringing a passion for the brand Aveda having worked in their experience store in Santa Barbara, CA.

Petals Hair & Beauty in Westport is a landmark salon frequented by a clientele from far and wide with many of the visitors to the busy tourist haven making regular return visits for hair, beauty and make-up services provided by a great team of experts. During the busy summer/wedding season it is often a case of all hands-on deck at Petals, Westport, when the growing team employed by Joan are in high demand for their top quality hair, barber and beauty services. All three of Joan’s girls, Katie, Jenny & Aoife have grown up working at the Westport salon.
